comfy~casual but practical

I've been living in turtlenecks/high neck tops for the past 6 months (what can I say, it's a work staple) and as soon as I saw this jumper from Junarose I knew I found a new piece to pair with said standard tops. I decided on pairing it with a sparkly one from H&M and my fave boots from New Look. This has now become one of my favorite go-to work outfits since it's so comfy~casual but still practical if that makes sense?

 Sorry for my late Valentine's Day look but, I'm the Queen of Hearts any day/every day anyways (just kidding) but, I do love anything with hearts on it and that's how it ended up being kind of hard for me to decide what to wear this Valentine's Day. I ended up choosing my burgundy coat from Junarose (which is now 30% off!) paired with a burgundy bralette, disco pants, black boots and my fave heart choker! Maybe next year I'll be super extra and try to do something crazy like 14 days of Valentine's Day looks, wouldn't that be fun?~*~

Festival Season

It's Festival Season!!! Junarose sent me a few pieces to style a fun festival look and this is what I came up with using their Lace Trim Kimono and Suede Skirt, I was worried the skirt would be too warm but it's surprisingly not too bad. Since it's always really warm/sometimes deathly hot during festival season, I opted to not wear a top. Instead, I wore a bralette (sold out, available in white here) underneath the airy kimono and used some of my crystal accessories. I feel like the look came together exactly how I wanted too. At the end of the day I ended up wishing I really was at a festival (WayHome this Summer ^__^)!

Embellished Shift Holiday Dress!

As soon as I laid eyes on this Embellished Shift Dress from Junarose I knew exactly how I would style it - with my favourite Acne Atacoma wedges!! I rarely bust these babies out but I thought the mirror would look nice with the sparkly gems on the top! The Holidays are coming up and I think this dress is perfect for the holidays/fancy occasions and I definitely think I'll be wearing it again sometime soon. That being said I have quite a few Holiday looks to share with you all! This being the first one of the season! ^__^ I also threw on my old Kadina Coat (similar here) from Carmakoma on since it's getting pretty chilly now. Allie shot these for me on her roof, she seriously has the best roof with the best view!

The Perfect Layering Piece

I'm a huge fan of ponchos, they're seriously the perfect layering piece! That's why I was beyond stoked when Junarose sent me their Fringle Poncho! I've been literally living in this for the past month, I even brought it with me to Vancouver (where I am right now) and it's saved my life (I'm stupid and didn't pack any sweaters).

 I wore this a couple weeks ago when it was exceptionally chilly but, since I knew I would be inside majority of the day I needed an outfit that would be practical for both indoors and my trek home outside. I paired it with my cute black sheer top, Luna purse, a necklace and some cute destroyed jeans from Charlotte Russe+ and my trusty heeled boots from New Look.

P L E A T E D

 I'm finally back from NYFW! It was seriously amazing and I'm already sad that I'm gone. I love NYC and I got to spend a full week this time which was pretty spectacular. I successfully figured out the subway and travelling from point a to b (with some wonderful tips from all my NY friends). I really wish I could move there, I've never fallen so in love with a city before. I mean, I've always loved nyc but after spending a week there exploring, eating delicious meals under $10, making new friends, lil retail therapy here and there and just really adventuring, I truly can say I've fallen in love.

I ended up staying (most of the time at least) at a cute apartment right beside 96th station. The proximity of the subway was definitely what had won me over initially. When I arrived last Thursday I fell in LOVE with the apartment and I really mean in love, it was super adorable and filled completely with cute vintage things. I literally wanted to buy her floral wardrobe, then realized it would be practically impossible to bring home.

I spent my first day in nyc getting settled in, heading to Target to buy a steamer and then getting ready for the Hey Gorgeous event (which I will be sharing sometime soon). I was gifted a few pieces from Junarose, one of my fave Danish companies to bring along on my trip and I ended up wearing this adorable green pleated dress to the Hey Gorgeous event since they also happen to carry Junarose! I was really feeling myself while getting ready since the bedroom has a really beautiful green vibe going on and I myself felt pretty vintagey thus, had to shoot this look in that gorgeous room.

The past few weeks have been incredibly overwhelming for me, I've had two impromptu trips (with the third one next week -.-) over the past 5 weeks. Although I love traveling it was not planned trips and ended up being rather stressful. I definitely missed home much more than I thought. I've been home for the past two weeks and decided to take a break and refresh. I have a ton of posts to share with you all, I also may have picked up quite a few new things I can't wait to share! ^___^

This Junarose knotted skirt is one of my fave new key pieces, I brought it along on both of my trips because of a. how comfy it is and b. I can literally pair it with so many things. I decided to pair it with an acid washed crop, grid bag, my fave heels and my coin necklace.

how to be less bodycon(scious)!

It's weird thinking back on the time I wouldn't allow myself to wear anything body conscious. I've definitely come a very long way since my teenage self-hate days. I remember believing my tummy was my worst feature and I refused to wear anything that would even slightly show it off. I was so brainwashed with society's fat stigma that I believed I would never be able to wear anything I wanted, let alone body con skirts or dresses until I "lost the weight".

Clearly, that never happened but instead what did happen was I realized that I can wear anything I want! It feels incredible to not just say that, but actually mean it. The girl you see now is so different from even 17-year-old Jessica. She would have never even considered rocking crop tops, fatkinis, short shorts or body con skirts. I don't even know who that girl is anymore, I can't even imagine who I would be if I was still her. My point is, for those of you who are still not 100% with yourselves, it's okay. As long as you try, and continue to work towards loving yourself it will happen! There's no way in hell I ever thought I would be okay with myself, let alone love myself but it happened, and I'm telling you it was the best thing to ever happen to me!
