Japan Funbox Review

Japan Funbox Review
I was sent the Japan Funbox Mini to review, it costs $14.99 a month with free worldwide shipping! It's a box filled with Japanese candy and snacks so I was super stoked to try it out! There were 6 treats inside and I've tried a lot of different Asian snacks in general so I was actually pretty surprised that I hadn't seen a few of these! Overall the box was pretty good, if you're into cute Japanese surprise snack boxes this is definitely one to try! I feel like the box was a real mystery, I genuinely had no idea what some of these things were haha.

I've tried these before, they're one of my favourites, it's spicy pizza chips! I haven't found these in Toronto at all, I tried them last Summer while in Hong Kong and was hooked, sadly, we only have the regular pizza chips :'(
Japan Funbox Review Pretz are super common, most people have tried these! I grew up on these as a child, they're sort of like a tomato flavoured pretzel and pretty delish!
Japan Funbox Review Chocolate cookies that I never tried, they were super melted but my friend said they were delicious! ^_^

I have no idea what this is (let alone the flavour?) still, some sort of gummy candy that was actually pretty good!
Japan Funbox Review
The Whistle Candy was pretty fun, my friend and I enjoyed whistling with them and they were grape flavored but melted pretty quickly. I like the cute little box they have to store the candy.

I think this was Sakura Cherry Blossom flavored kinda pop rocks thing? The flavor was not my fave for sure.

Doki Doki by Japan Crate March 2016 Review

For those of you who don't know, I love all things ~*kawaii*~!!! That's why I was beyond stoked when Doki Doki by Japan Crate sent me a box filled with goodies! Doki Doki is a monthly supply box for all things kawaii! The box is $30 USD (including free shipping within the US otherwise an extra $10-$15 for international orders) and includes 8-10 items. I had seen that the previous month's box had a ton of cute Sailor Moon things and was hopeful that I'd get something equally as cool (spoiler alert: I didn't). The box comes with a cute little manga style flip comic that tells you what you received in your box. March was Foodie Fun themed and I think that everything inside was pretty on brand with the theme. I'm definitely going to be making a kawaii bento box lunch sometime very soon!

kawaii stickers totally thought the egg ones were gudatema at first glance haha

Overall, the box wasn't awful, I didn't love everything but I do think that everything was well thought vs a random box of just cute things. I don't think I'd spend $45 USD a month on it but, if you live in the US (free shipping, making the box only $30USD/month) or love all things kawaii(and often find most things overpriced anyways) I would definitely recommend trying it out!

Review| Banggood

In September Lily from Banggood (a best bang for you buck type online shop) reached out to see if I'd like to review a few pieces. I'm a huge sales fanatic so, after browsing around for a little bit I thought why not? I ended up choosing this plaid dress and a tanktop which did not end up looking exactly like the one in the photo and sadly, did not end up fitting. :'(

Delivery took an extremely long time, I'm not sure quite why but on the tracking it said the package landed in Toronto Oct 1 but, by Oct 29th I had still yet to receive the package. It ended up being held up in customs for a really, really long time. Thus, after it ~*finally*~ arrived I ended up at my bff Christopher Vanier's house to shoot some photos and he ended up shooting my new outfit!

 I found the dress fit exactly as how the online measurements said (be sure to always read those carefully) and it looked identical to the photos, the only one concern I had was that the fabric was a little on the thin side, not a huge problem, but it did make me a lil anxious.

Overall, I mean the dress is $16.27 CAD, that's a freaking steal! I plan on ordering a few things in the future since I don't really mind the long delivery time, and they have cute super affordable options! Be sure to check out their plus options here!

L'Oréal Professional Hairchalk Garden Party Review

L'Oréal Professional Hairchalk Garden Party The lovely Martine from 1Milks2Sugar was kind enough to send me a L'Oréal Professional Hairchalk a few weeks ago! I've been on the hunt for a green dye forever so I was super excited when I found out one of the eight colours(violet, blue, coral, pink, bronze, light brown and black)was Garden Party Green!!! I was really excited to find out that this wasn't the typical hairchalk(i.e. dry, looks sometimes like pastel crayons, leaves a weird texture in your hair, and best of all stains everything). It's a new revolutionary water based ink + micro-fiber polymers that create a thin film that sticks to hair fibers, it's a new type of makeup but, for hair! It costs about $25 and fades out in 2-10 washes.  I finally had some time to try it out and asked my friend Diane to do it for me! I'll explain how I feel about L'Oréal's new hairchalk through a list of Pros and Cons.

Pros:

+ I've never found a dye/hairchalk this shade of vibrant green before(I usually only see really dark greens or weak greens/fade away super easily).

+ I used the hairchalk last Wednesday, that was 8 days ago. My hair is a bleached brown/blonde color(where I used it), it's now been 9 washes later and it is almost fully faded out. It took about 5 washes for the vibrant green to start to fade, then it became a more minty light green. This lasts a lot longer than all other hairchalk products I've used.

+ It's liquid hairchalk!!! I am much more comfortable using dyes/liquids to change my hair colour then the dry gross chalks I normally get.

+ It didn't make my hair damaged/feel weird after putting it in! I know it looks super frizzed up but it's actually just because I didn't straighten my hair that day(I normally do since my hair looks terribz when not straightened). When it was straightened it felt super soft like my regular hair.

+ No clothes stains!!!!~*~*~* the two things I hate the most are when dyes/hairchalks stain my clothes.. it's happened on sooooo many occasions I have a whole pile of clothes strictly for dyeing my hair/letting my hair dry haha.

+ It was super easy to apply!!! You just squeeze some onto a sponge and drag it through your hair.

Cons:

- I wasn't sent a pair of gloves or sponge with this sadly(I'm hoping the box comes with them) so we kinda had to make due using a makeup sponge and one pair of gloves haha, unfortunately I decided to start helping using my bare hands(believe me I regretted it badly)... thinking I could take it off easily afterwards... that was not the case since my hands were stained for about a day until I realized Vaseline would remove it all. Do not use your hands!!!!

That's literally the only downside and that was totally on my part since I'm an idiot.
I can't wait to try out the Coral and Violet!!! This is the perfect substitution for anyone who wants to experiment with fun colours but can't currently commit to it! I'd definitely recommend it especially compared to the typical terrible hairchalk mess that I've always used.

Ipsy Bag August 2014

Ipsy Bag August 2014 My August Ipsy bag arrived in the mail a few days ago! For those of you who don't know Ipsy is a beauty bag monthly subscription! I've been a huge fan since I joined a year ago, it costs $10 a month plus shipping but it's totally worth it! You get about 4-5 samples in each bag based off a quiz you take when you join letting Ipsy know what products/brands you like.
I really liked everything in this months bag except for the Lord & Berry eyeliner since I haven't had a chance to use it yet(sadly it melted on it's travel to me and I have to really sharpen it to get any of the actual eyeliner). My favourite was definitely the Urban Decay mascara and the blush set(I seriously love blush so much, can't wait for fall to come so I can start wearing it everyday)! I definitely think it's worth it to try out new beauty products monthly(especially for anyone like me who doesn't normally venture our of our own personal beauty faves) and for only $10! If you're interested in checking it out/signing up you can do so here!

Ipsy Bag August 2014 I love this lip balm it's super delicious and I love the cute sparkles in it that don't show up on my lips haha. Ipsy Bag August 2014 This is my new favorite primer! It gives my face this lovely matte finish!Ipsy Bag August 2014 I think I'll be changing this to my new go to mascara! I seriously loved it(I'm also just a little bit biased since Urban Decay has been my brand of choice for eyeliner for like 5 years).Ipsy Bag August 2014 I love blush! I haven't had the chance to use these yet because I only wear blush during the Fall/Winter(my face will either just sweat it off or it will look too extra during the spring/summer sadly).Ipsy Bag August 2014 Haven't had the chance to use this yet since it melted :'( Ipsy Bag August 2014 This months cute bag!

Ipsy Bag July 2014

Ipsy Bag July 2014
I've actually been a long time subscriber/fan of Ipsy bags! I was suprised I hadn't wrote a post about them before(hopefully I'll be able to make one monthly). For those of you who may not know, Ipsy is a makeup subscription bag that comes in every month based on your makeup style/needs/likes, pretty much it's a personalized monthly bag of makeup goodies!~
Best part about it is it's only about $10(+$3 for shipping for fellow Canadians!).

Seeing as I actually don't ever tend to spend too much $$$ towards beauty/makeup products(what can I say, I will always prefer shoes/clothes/accessories). Spending less than $15 a month guarantees me the chance to try out a few different products that I'm interested in, without spending all the $$$.

Personally I only really wear eyeliner, mascara and a lippy on the regular. Thus, getting those products + other things to try out is always helpful. I also really enjoy the fact that if I fall in loveeee with whatever I got that month, as well as the other products that we're sent out that I may not have received, I'm able to purchase it at a discounted or awesome deal that ipsy has!

This months bag was all about summer essentials, I really liked everything in the bag sans nail polish. I don't know why but every nail polish I've gotten has been in a colour that wasn't me... sadly this will be the last month I receive nail polishes since I just can't seem to get one I like. That's another great thing, at any time you aren't satisfied with what you get/no longer want particular things(i.e. nail polish, brushes, eyeliner, blush) you can choose to opt out of receiving those items. You also get to review your items every month so that they can customize your bag even more to your likes.

I'm obviously a huge fan, I think it's a great deal and I've loved every bag that's come in!
If you're interested in trying out Ipsy for yourself, you can sign up here.

Ipsy Bag July 2014 This has been the cutest bag I've gotten, I love the scalloped edges. I've already switched all my essentials into it :) Ipsy Bag July 2014bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0;
I actually really liked this, although the purple one is a bit dark for me I definitely think I could find a way to use it(if I ever start wearing eyeshadow more often again haha), I really liked the pinker one, it was really sweet! I'll be sure to try and make a post with one of the looks.
Ipsy Bag July 2014 Marrakesh Hair Care Marrakesh Ends;
Seriously, I tend to get a lot of the hair repairing products(the tips of my hair are damaged beyond repair, at least I thought so), I've used this probably twice so far and I can tell you it's already been a huge difference, I plan on buying the full sized version since I intend on bleaching more of my hair in the next few weeks.
Ipsy Bag July 2014 wHET nail polish in Facetious
The nail polish that ended it for all nail polishes in my ipsy bags, I just really don't like the color, I also hated that when I tried to take it off it left smudgey blue marks on my skin. Just no more nail polish. Ipsy Bag July 2014 Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil SPF 08;
As I mentioned previously, I am really sensitive to the sun. I tend to burn up really badly, I actually never ever use tanning oil, the last time probably being in 2008 and it was that malibu tanning lotion. Anywhoo, I wouldn't have even thought about using this but, last month I received the Hang Ten Classic Sport SPF50 Sunblock which was seriously amazing(I normally always hate the sunblock I use on my face, but this one was perfect)!!!! So I'm going to attempt at using this to tan just my legs tomorrow at the beach with Alex, since I have a weird arm tan going on my legs need to match.
Ipsy Bag July 2014 Elizabeth Mott Tints & Sass;
I really love lip stains but, what's better than just lip stains? Lip and Cheek stains Duh! It goes on perfectly and blends into a soft pretty pink/rose colour. I have always loved the lipstains I received from my ipsy bags but this is one of my favourites since it's such a natural pink/rose. Can't wait to share photos with it on!

Addition Elle Fall'14

Addition Elle Winter 2014 A little over a month ago I was invited to Brill Communications Fall'14 Preview for Addition Elle, I happened to lose this memory card for a while(believe me, I was so upset Jayson and I ended up tossing and turning our room a couple times until we finally found it).

Although Summer just started, the unbearable heat that is slowly starting to creep in, has got me thinking about a cooler season(don't get me wrong, winter can stay faaaaar away but, i'm missing that September throw a cardigan over weather).
I couldn't wait to share some photos of all the beautiful pieces coming out this fall! I know I rave about Addition Elle quite a bit, but I'm honestly so impressed! My top favourites are definitely the varsity zip up and denim jacket!

Ecco happened to be showing their Fall'14 Preview as well! The Touch 15B boots definitely caught my eye, along with the whole shoe designing/special sole process! Definitely look into it! It's pretty interesting.
