L'Oréal Professional Hairchalk Garden Party Review

The lovely Martine from 1Milks2Sugar was kind enough to send me a L'Oréal Professional Hairchalk a few weeks ago! I've been on the hunt for a green dye forever so I was super excited when I found out one of the eight colours(violet, blue, coral, pink, bronze, light brown and black)was Garden Party Green!!! I was really excited to find out that this wasn't the typical hairchalk(i.e. dry, looks sometimes like pastel crayons, leaves a weird texture in your hair, and best of all stains everything). It's a new revolutionary water based ink + micro-fiber polymers that create a thin film that sticks to hair fibers, it's a new type of makeup but, for hair! It costs about $25 and fades out in 2-10 washes.  I finally had some time to try it out and asked my friend Diane to do it for me! I'll explain how I feel about L'Oréal's new hairchalk through a list of Pros and Cons.

Pros:

+ I've never found a dye/hairchalk this shade of vibrant green before(I usually only see really dark greens or weak greens/fade away super easily).

+ I used the hairchalk last Wednesday, that was 8 days ago. My hair is a bleached brown/blonde color(where I used it), it's now been 9 washes later and it is almost fully faded out. It took about 5 washes for the vibrant green to start to fade, then it became a more minty light green. This lasts a lot longer than all other hairchalk products I've used.

+ It's liquid hairchalk!!! I am much more comfortable using dyes/liquids to change my hair colour then the dry gross chalks I normally get.

+ It didn't make my hair damaged/feel weird after putting it in! I know it looks super frizzed up but it's actually just because I didn't straighten my hair that day(I normally do since my hair looks terribz when not straightened). When it was straightened it felt super soft like my regular hair.

+ No clothes stains!!!!~*~*~* the two things I hate the most are when dyes/hairchalks stain my clothes.. it's happened on sooooo many occasions I have a whole pile of clothes strictly for dyeing my hair/letting my hair dry haha.

+ It was super easy to apply!!! You just squeeze some onto a sponge and drag it through your hair.

Cons:

- I wasn't sent a pair of gloves or sponge with this sadly(I'm hoping the box comes with them) so we kinda had to make due using a makeup sponge and one pair of gloves haha, unfortunately I decided to start helping using my bare hands(believe me I regretted it badly)... thinking I could take it off easily afterwards... that was not the case since my hands were stained for about a day until I realized Vaseline would remove it all. Do not use your hands!!!!

That's literally the only downside and that was totally on my part since I'm an idiot.
I can't wait to try out the Coral and Violet!!! This is the perfect substitution for anyone who wants to experiment with fun colours but can't currently commit to it! I'd definitely recommend it especially compared to the typical terrible hairchalk mess that I've always used.

Garden Party Green! I'm an idiot

While I was on vacation a few weeks ago Jayson and I decided to visit the infamous mines close by. The cool thing about it is that it's filled up with water and it's just so beautiful!! My sister told me how she had visited and actually went up close(the area is gated so no one can enter). We seriously attempted at finding this secret hole in the fence but we couldn't find it and I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.  It's seriously gorgeous and I plan on attempting another visit to find this said hole in the fall.

I have been gravitating towards food clothing a ton lately, I've especially loved all things pineapple!!! As you can see I have both an awesome pineapple tank from Forever21(I picked it up in the Men's section for $10) and pineapple shoes from Call it Spring(for $14)! I've been finding amazing bargains lately. I paired my fun pineapple themed outfit with a simple skirt from New Look and my cute smiley face necklace from Nasty Gal.

Twin Tuesdays 04; Mint

For our final Twin Tuesday Alex and I wore mint dresses! I think this was my favorite outfits out of our twin tuesdays thus far as I felt super girly and also finally got the chance to pull out my new telephone purse from Aldo! I seriously love it! It's super adorable and matches my mint dress perfectly, I decided to pair it with; my pearl belt from ASOS Curve, pink wedges from PLNDR and a cute collar I borrowed from Alex!

ps. looking at these pictures kinda make me miss my full natural hair soooooo much(just looking at its health/shine/length :'( ), I can't wait to dye it a fun color this week ;)

ASOS Curve Fatkini

Yesterday I was blessed *insert prayer hands emoji here* with the chance to head over to my friend Cal's place for bbq & swimtimez!!!!~*~*~ I was especially happy since although I attempted at swimming several times this summer, I still hadn't had the chance. :'(

Luckily, Cal has an amaaaaazing salt water pool + the coolest house ever so we headed over for a day of swimming and fun times!

Since swimming happens to be my favorite thing to do, I've sorta-kinda accumulated a ton of swimsuits in the process... (sidenote: I actually don't, technically know how to swim...) I ended up wearing my tribal print fatkini which is funny because I was actually selling it last year at Big Deal. Since I had accumulated so many (I also thought I liked this one the least of all my new ones~) I was thankful no one had bought it: I got to finally take off the tags and wear it this past Sunday!
 
I'm seriously in love with it; I'm so happy it ended up staying with me! I also decided to pair it with my fun tank top from Drop Dead which I had to buy after seeing the wonderful message. ;)

Ipsy Bag August 2014

My August Ipsy bag arrived in the mail a few days ago! For those of you who don't know Ipsy is a beauty bag monthly subscription! I've been a huge fan since I joined a year ago, it costs $10 a month plus shipping but it's totally worth it! You get about 4-5 samples in each bag based off a quiz you take when you join letting Ipsy know what products/brands you like.
I really liked everything in this months bag except for the Lord & Berry eyeliner since I haven't had a chance to use it yet(sadly it melted on it's travel to me and I have to really sharpen it to get any of the actual eyeliner). My favourite was definitely the Urban Decay mascara and the blush set(I seriously love blush so much, can't wait for fall to come so I can start wearing it everyday)! I definitely think it's worth it to try out new beauty products monthly(especially for anyone like me who doesn't normally venture our of our own personal beauty faves) and for only $10! I love this lip balm it's super delicious and I love the cute sparkles in it that don't show up on my lips haha. This is my new favorite primer! It gives my face this lovely matte finish! I think I'll be changing this to my new go to mascara! I seriously loved it(I'm also just a little bit biased since Urban Decay has been my brand of choice for eyeliner for like 5 years). I love blush! I haven't had the chance to use these yet because I only wear blush during the Fall/Winter(my face will either just sweat it off or it will look too extra during the spring/summer sadly). Haven't had the chance to use this yet since it melted :'( This months cute bag!

Intergalactic

Back when Jayson and I were on a mini vacation(aka hanging in cottage-ville), I decided it would be a good idea to dye my hair.... myself... honestly it didn't turn out as bad as I had thought but, I'd be lying if I said it was perfect. I may have kinda messed up the back(to be fair I did it all myself though since Jayson wouldn't help :'( ) but, it's okay because I did manage to finally get it to the color I wanted to! This was after the second bleaching and about 4 hours of my hair drowning in coconut oil.

Jayson and I went on a couple of adventures during this mini vacation and one of the things we checked out happened to be Twin Sister's lake, it's actually just two lakes that look pretty much identical that are right across from each other. I really like adventuring outside of the city, I feel like there's so much to offer(exploring wise) that I normally can't find in the city. I can't wait to show you all the next place we checked out although, we technically couldn't find the right way in... you'll have to wait and see ;)

Rev Faves

A few weeks I was invited by the lovely Tuti Do of Rev Communications to checkout Rev Faves!
Penningtons MBLM happened to be one of them! I really liked the cute soft knits and the awesome mixed fabric sweater(seriously must get these)! I'm also looking forward to the awesome plaid and denim coming out this Fall!!!

I also really loved all the nice home decor stuff that Linen Chest was showing, they have a super cute coat rack that I kinda neeeeed! 
Overall, I loved all the Rev Faves! Definitely check them out!
