Day 7 of NYFW; Fashion to Figure HQ!

The final day of NYFW was bittersweet, I didn't want the trip to be over, but I also really missed home (but mostly my dogs). Allie and I spent the morning at the Fashion to Figure Headquarters! We had so much fun learning more about Fashion to Figure, did you know Fashion to Figure was founded by Michael and Nicholas Kaplan, who happen to be the great-grandsons of Lena Bryant (aka Lane Bryant's founder)? We then played dress up in a whole bunch of upcoming pieces! I'm honestly in love and a ton of these pieces have already found their way into my closet. ;) Be sure to check out Allie's post here.

I R I D E S C E N C E

Day 6 of NYFW was amazing, I went to the Addition Elle x Ashley Graham show and was super excited seeing as it was a. the first actual Plus Size show I went to during all of New York Fashion Week (granted I saw a few plus models at other shows, which is awesome ~*body diversity*~ ya'll) and b. a Canadian brand!!! I was thoroughly impressed with all the pieces, especially all the cute lingerie. I ended up wearing my fun new dress from Monki that I picked up while I was in Hong Kong, paired with a ton of iridescent accents!

New York Fashion Week Pt. 2; Korto Momolu SS15 ft. Darrell Roach Jewel Designs

I know that New York Fashion Week was quite a while ago but I've been on a bit of a blog hiatus since sometime over the Summer sadly and created an overwhelming amount of posts that I never got to share. Even though my memory card is currently lost in the mess of my room, I forgot at some point I had attempted at getting my shit together and told myself to get the photos for each post before I inevitably lose the memory card again (sadly this happens way too often). I'll be posting something new everyday up until the new year and I can't wait to finally have caught up and be ~*free*~ of Jayson nagging me. ;)

I was stoked to be invited to the Korto Momolu SS15 ft. Darrell Roach Jewel Designs show by Full Figured Fashion Week founder and CEO, Gwen DeVoe! I was in love with both the jewelry and designs, they were absolutely stunning! I also loved the venue it was held at, it was my first time being on a roof in New York and I was in awe of the gorgeous view.

After the show Karen of Curvy Canadian, Peter, Jayson and I went shopping!!! We didn't get up too to much trouble seeing as before we even realized we had to leave for dinner! Karen and Peter planned an awesome dinner in the flatiron district with tons of other people in the industry that I had just met and I was super excited! The fish tacos we're to dieeee for!

Afterwards, we decided on continueing our shopping in Times Square with Rikke of Sticky Sweet Danish! Not going to lie, I was totally fangirling and super stoked to be hanging out with Rikke! She's seriously so much fun and the sweetest! Can't wait to hang out with her again! ^__^

It was the perfect ending half of a busy day in NYC, and I can't wait to be back soon!

NYFW Pt 1; Carmakoma

A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be able to head down to New York for a few days during NYFW! Although it was a massive hell to get Jayson and I's express passport (i.e. got denied 4 times, took about 6 trips and 12 hours wasted, etc.), we did it and we we're so incredibly ecstatic to go! Ford Canada was nice enough to lend us the 2014 Ford Focus Titanium! We went with Karen of Curvy Canadian and Peter, who coincidentally has family living in the Bronx which meant we had somewhere to stay!

We loaded the car up early on Sunday and then headed down for our long adventurous roadtrip! We indulged on bulk barn snacks and spent the next 9 hours trying to keep each other awake. There were a few hilarious ~*pleas*~ to stop at Scranton to check it out but sadly we just didn't have enough time (don't worry Karen I promise I'll be better with the convincing next time) ;). We finally arrived and Peter's family was nice enough to let us indulge on their delicious Italian food!!!

The next day, we started off our morning all getting ready for the big day ahead of us and then grabbed some delicious breakfast at Breads Bakery. Afterwards Karen and I got our hair done at DryBar where we ran into Nicolette Mason, I decided to go with the fun Mai Tai and Karen chose gorgeous braids. We then headed down to the Carmakoma SS15 Preview! I am in loveeee with everything!!! The Danish brand makes sure all pieces are incredibly structured and just so well made. I also found out Rikke of Sticky Sweet Danish is their social media girl, I was super stoked to finally get to meet her! I got to try on a ton of pieces and I need so many pieces asap! I also had a total fangirl moment when I got to meet my blogger idol Gabi of Gabi Fresh!!!
